Dr. Ingrid Hastedt is a Neuropsychological Evaluator and Licensed Clinical Psychologist at the Boston Child Study Center. She specializes in neuropsychological assessment for children and adolescents with a variety of neurodevelopmental, neurological, and medical conditions. In addition to her work at BCSC, Dr. Hastedt is an Clinical Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. In this role, she serves as a lecturer in the Clinical Neuropsychology program.
Dr. Hastedt received her B.A. in Psychology from Boston College, her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Boston, and completed her post-doctoral fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She is originally from Guatemala, and is a native Spanish speaker. Her early training focused on assessment for autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders, and worked as a study clinician for two leading autism research groups at UMass Boston and Boston Children’s Hospital. Her training then focused on neuropsychological evaluations for children with medical conditions affecting brain development, concussions and traumatic brain injury. During her pre-doctoral internship at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami, she also received specialized training in bilingual neuropsychological evaluations for children and adolescents. She has worked with families from diverse backgrounds and is passionate about increasing access to neuropsychological care for linguistic minority families in the US.
Dr. Hastedt’s neuropsychological evaluation approach is comprehensive and holistic, considering all aspects of child development and current functioning to help parents understand their child’s strengths and weaknesses and guide them to appropriate resources for areas of need.
