Frequently Asked Questions:
Is caregiver coaching really that important?
Yes! We know that parenting/caregiving can be really, really stressful and exhausting. We also know that problems with one member of the family typically spill over to affect everyone in the family. The good news is that there are great, evidence-based approaches to managing these problems for parents/caregivers of kids of all ages.
How often does caregiver coaching take place and how long does it last?
Caregiver coaching typically occurs on a weekly basis, but the timing and frequency of these meetings will be up to you and your treatment team to decide on together.
Do both parents/caregivers within the immediate family system need to attend?
In most instances, yes, we would prefer for all primary caregivers to attend sessions. We believe that the most effective coaching includes all caregivers within a family system. Exceptions to this are possible on a case-by-case basis.
