Bridget Bertoldi, PhD

Dr. Bridget Bertoldi is a licensed clinical psychologist at the Boston Child Study Center. She specializes in treating children, adolescents, and adults with complex diagnostic presentations, including mood, anxiety, personality, trauma, substance use, disruptive behavior, and psychotic disorders. Dr. Bertoldi also has experience in the treatment and assessment of high-risk behaviors, including suicidal ideation and non-suicidal self-injury, violence and aggression, problematic sexual behaviors, and fire setting. She has received training and is experienced in implementing evidence-based therapy approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ExRP), Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and Parent Management Training (PMT). 

Dr. Bertoldi received her B.A. in Psychology and B.M. in Flute Performance at Bard College Conservatory of Music’s Double Degree Program before earning her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Florida State University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Federal Correctional Complex in Allenwood, Pennsylvania, during which she worked with incarcerated individuals across varying security levels with a wide array of mental health presentations. Dr. Bertoldi completed her post-doctoral fellowship in serious mental illness at UMass Chan/Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH). Prior to joining BCSC, Dr. Bertoldi was a staff psychologist at WRCH Adolescent Continuing Care Unit, an inpatient psychiatric facility that is the highest level of care for children and adolescents in the state of Massachusetts.

Dr. Bertoldi continues to collaborate and publish research with colleagues at the Boston Child Study Center, Florida State University, University of Pennsylvania, and Ӧrebro University on biological risk factors for antisocial behavior and psychopathology, with a primary focus on resting heart rate and peripheral psychophysiological measures. Dr. Bertoldi has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and book chapters related to these topics.
