Hana Young, BS

Hana Young (she/her) is a clinical extern at the Boston Child Study Center, where she provides supervised direct patient care to adolescents, specializing in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Union College and a Master of Science in Psychology from Suffolk University. Hana has previously worked in mental health care at the inpatient, residential, and outpatient level. Currently, Hana is a third-year doctoral student at Suffolk University’s Clinical Psychology PhD program. Her research focuses on how emotion regulation skills can buffer the effects of racial discrimination in young adult populations.
 
Prior to her work at the Boston Child Study Center, Hana served as a counselor at McLean Hospital’s 3East DBT Programs for Adolescents and Young Adults, working with clients with emerging borderline personality disorder (BPD), self-harm, depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Here, she provided individual and group DBT skills coaching and skills training. Previously, Hana also completed a clinical externship in exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP) at McLean Hospital’s OCD Institute, where she provided individual ERP coaching, group DBT skills training, and clinical diagnostic assessments to adults at a residential level of care.
