Undergraduate and Post-Baccalaureate Opportunities

Undergraduates and post-baccalaureates interested in volunteering with children and their families can apply for clinical assistant positions at BCSC. Clinical assistants are largely involved in the Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) clinic. The PCIT clinic is directed by Dr. Joshua Masse, a Global Trainer endorsed by PCIT International, and is staffed by clinical psychologists, licensed mental health counselors, post-doctoral fellows, and clinical externs. Clinical assistants work closely with the PCIT team and are responsible for data entry, administrative tasks, preparing therapy session materials, and childcare. Clinical assistants also attend weekly PCIT clinical team rounds, observe PCIT sessions, learn and utilize therapeutic play techniques, and become familiar with behavioral coding systems.

If interested, clinical assistants have the opportunity to participate in BCSC clinical activities outside of the PCIT clinic. This can include assisting with group therapy sessions, acting as a confederate for exposures, assisting with research initiatives, and working on a variety of Executive Functioning/Learning and Organizational Skills projects. Clinical assistants also have the chance to work with neuropsychologists, observing neuropsychological testing and/or learning to score assessments. Additionally, clinical assistants can attend clinical rounds and/or educational seminars. If of interest, CAs may also support the presentation of current clinically-relevant literature and research to teams (e.g. journal club).

Interested applicants should have availability on Tuesdays between 10am-4pm and Wednesdays between 1pm-2pm in addition to another weekday afternoon for a total of 10-12 hours per week. Clinical assistants are required to be “on-site” at our Boston or Natick office for a portion of their weekly hours, in addition to virtual responsibilities (e.g., data entry, assisting with telehealth sessions). Undergraduate applicants must be rising juniors or seniors and must have a minimum GPA of 3.5. The application submission deadline for the academic year (September 2025 through May 2026) is April 15th, 2025.

Please note that the application deadline has passed, and we are no longer accepting applications at this time.
