Nick Morelli, MS

Clinical Psychology Fellow

Dr. Nick Morelli is a Clinical Psychology Fellow at Boston Child Study Center, where he provides cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Parent-Management Training (PMT), and other evidence-based internventions for children and adolescents. In addition, he has specialized training in the assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders, such as autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, learning disorders, and intellectual disability.

Dr. Morelli graduated with a BA in Applied Psychology and Human Development and a minor in Neuroscience from Boston College. He received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the San Diego State University/University of California, San Diego Joint Doctoral Program, where he also earned his Master’s in Public Health (MPH). He completed his predoctoral internship at Franciscan Children’s in Brighton, MA, where he provided treatment for children and adolescents with behavioral difficulties, irritability, mood challenges, trauma exposure, anxiety, and depression. Dr. Morelli’s clinical interests are highly informed by his research, which examines how exposure to trauma and adversity during childhood impacts social, emotional, and cognitive development across the lifespan. He has also been involved in clinical trials research to test the effectiveness of interventions for children with ADHD and other behavioral challenges. He views much of his work through a public health lens, considering not only the individual child, but also the broader systems—families, schools, and communities—that support children’s development and well-being.

Dr. Morelli prioritizes a collaborative and strengths-based approach, building on what families are already doing well. His approach centers on working closely with caregivers, equipping them with the tools and confidence to act as the primary change agents for their child’s behavior and emotional well-being.
