Emily Hersch, MA

Clinical Extern
Emily Hersch, M.A., is a clinical extern at the Boston Child Study Center, where she provides neuropsychological assessment and therapy to children, adolescents, and young adults under the guidance of her supervisors. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Emory University and earned her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern University. Emily is currently a fourth-year doctoral student at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Her research focuses on the development, evaluation, and implementation of accessible and culturally responsive online interventions for youth and families.
Prior to her work at the Boston Child Study Center, she completed a clinical externship at the Counseling Center at the University of Massachusetts Boston, where she provided individual therapy and assessment to young adults from racially and culturally diverse backgrounds presenting with anxiety and depression, executive functioning concerns, interpersonal and family challenges, and gender dysphoria. She also trained as a clinical extern at the McLean-Franciscan Child and Adolescent Inpatient Program, where she delivered individual and group therapy to youth with a wide range of clinical presentations. In addition, she furthered her training at Boston University’s Child Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders, where she provided group therapy to young children with Selective Mutism and was trained in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy for Selective Mutism (PCIT-SM).
