Anna Klein, M.A., LMHC
CBT/DBT Therapist
Anna is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at the Boston Child Study Center, where she provides evidence-based Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) services. Anna completed the Intensive Foundational DBT training taught by Dr. Charles Swenson. She specializes in CBT and DBT for youth and young adults with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, borderline personality disorder, complex trauma and PTSD, interpersonal conflict and personal development. Anna incorporates mindfulness, trauma informed and values-based interventions to aid with an increase in awareness and personal development.
Anna earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a Trauma Studies Specialization from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. She completed her initial training at Cambridge High School Extension Program, providing individual and group therapy to adolescents on issues including academic adjustment, family conflict, childhood trauma, drug and alcohol use, social pressures and eating disorders. She received further training at Bay Cove’s Psychiatric Treatment Center for adults, where she facilitated and led groups relating to environmental stressors and triggers, enhance emotion regulation, improve interpersonal and communication skills and increase self-esteem using a variety of modalities including CBT, DBT, and Expressive Therapy.
She completed her pre-licensure training working for Justice Resource Institute as an in-home therapist, providing intensive family and individual therapy, care coordination, case management, crisis intervention, and parent support to families of children, adolescents and young adults with behavioral, emotional and mental health needs.
