Clinical Extern
Cayley Bliss (she / her) is a clinical extern at the Boston Child Study Center, where she provides supervised direct patient care to children, adolescents, and their families, specializing in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Clinical Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling Theories from Boston College. Cayley has previously worked in mental health care, education, clinical research, and the nonprofit sector. Currently, Cayley is a third-year doctoral student at the Boston College Counseling Psychology PhD Program. Her research focuses on empowering LGBTQ+ youth through group-based interventions and promoting pro-social behaviors and relationships among youth through school-based interventions.
Prior to her work at the Boston Child Study Center, Cayley served as a therapist at Beacon Hill Therapy, where she practiced integrative therapeutic approaches, including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and play therapy, with individuals across the lifespan with a wide range of presentations. At the Boston University Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders, Cayley gained experience providing parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT-SM) support and coaching to children with selective mutism and their caregivers through the Brave Bunch Program. Previously, Cayley completed a clinical externship in feminist and relational-cultural therapy during her internship at Simmons University Counseling Center, where she provided outpatient therapy and crisis intervention to young adults.
