Social and Emotional Learning Group with Co-Running Parent Group
BCSC offers social and emotion regulation skills training for children aged 7 to 10. The group has a special focus on making and maintaining friendships, recognizing and understanding emotions, coping with strong emotions, and social problem solving.
To maximize their child’s mastery of the skills, parents participate in a co-running parent group built to help families use and model these skills. Parent topics will include understanding children’s strengths and challenges, using positive parenting skills to increase on-task behaviors, setting limits to increase compliance, and coaching children to utilize newly learned social and emotional skills.
